Eric Garcia is one of the FC Barcelona players who has attracted attention in the ongoing winter transfer window and could, in theory, help generate the necessary ‘fair play’ to facilitate potential signings in this winter market.
The 24-year-old versatile defender is being courted by Girona, who had him on loan at the Montilivi last season, and are eager to take him back on a permanent deal.
Meanwhile, Italian club Como, managed by former Barça star Cesc Fabregas, are also keen on signing Garcia. Ex-Barcelona captain Sergi Roberto, who plays for the Serie A team, is said to have called the defender to convince him to make the switch.
But as has been reported recently, Garcia would prefer to stay at Barcelona and continue fighting for his place despite the stiff competition for places.

Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have also made a decision over the future of Eric Garcia amidst the interest he is attracting.
The message conveyed by the club as far as the 24-year-old defender’s future is concerned is: “He is not leaving, he is staying.”
Garcia, who has a contract until 2026, demonstrated against Benfica that he can be a very useful player for Hansi Flick. He is solid defensively and confident when bringing the ball out from the back.
Moreover, the former Manchester City defender is also a skilled header, making him a very dangerous player in set-piece situations.
Barcelona value Garcia highly and the interested clubs – Girona and Como – have not made an offer that would be considered irresistible by the club. As such, the Catalans have made it clear that he is not leaving.
