Barcelona make contact over deal for Fiorentina star | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona recently touched base with their counterparts at Fiorentina, over a deal for a member of the Viola’s backline.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who point towards Dodô as the player in question.

Dodô, for his part, is in the midst of what has been an altogether impressive campaign on the books of Fiorentina.

Having put a serious knee injury firmly behind him, the Brazilian has established as an absolutely crucial figure in boss Raffaele Palladino’s squad.

Just this past weekend, Dodô ran AC Milan ragged, notching his fifth assist of the Serie A season, before seeing what looked set to be a last-gasp winner disallowed by VAR.

And such ongoing excellence on the part of the 26-year-old has evidently not gone unnoticed across the continent.

This comes amid confirmation that the aforementioned Barcelona have made contact over the possibility of a summer deal for Dodô.

The Blaugrana are known to be on the lookout for reinforcements at right-back with a view to next season, with Calciomercato having confirmed:

‘Dodò was called by Hansi Flick to Barcelona.’

It is also noted, though, that the priority of the talented full-back as things stand is to put pen to paper on a new contract in Florence.
