It remains the objective of FC Barcelona to assemble a squad strong enough to compete for everything next season. Even in this recent campaign, La Blaugrana came agonisingly close to a possible continental treble. Unfortunately, however, squad depth proved to be a fatal shortcoming for Barcelona.
Since then, despite winning a domestic treble, the Catalan giants remain fixated on bringing together an even more complete squad than last season. To do this, however, La Blaugrana have decided to take things one step at a time with their transfers.

Following the arrival of Spanish goalkeeper Joan Garcia, Barcelona turned their attention towards the arrival of a new left-winger. While the operation involving Roony Bardghji is also developing positively, the true goal for Barça remains to bring in a top-level left-winger.
To do that, and even register certain players and signings, Barcelona knows how crucial it is to return to the 1:1 rule again. While previous reports claimed that a return was imminent, it seems that Barça want to be safe just in case through the completion of a valuable sale this summer.
So far, according to AS, Barcelona have primarily shortlisted three candidates to facilitate a high-value sale this summer. One of the major factors that led to the selection of certain players over others was also the price for which they arrived, as a cheaper acquisition being sold for more would provide the club’s accounts with a significant positive balance.
The first name, and reportedly one that is at the top of the list, seems to be that of Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo. No longer a guaranteed starter for Hansi Flick, his commitment to the club may not matter much in the face of a good offer for his signing.
Moreover, while he may already have a renewal in place with the club, the reality of the matter is that a strong offer could lead to Barcelona selling him. With several players ahead of him in the pecking order, selling him would make sense from various perspectives.

Another name on the shortlist is that of Fermin Lopez, a dynamic 22-year-old midfielder. However, his sale would reportedly only be considered in case of an emergency, as Barcelona coach Hansi Flick remains more than impressed with him and his performances.
Interestingly, however, the Spaniard has already attracted interest from some top European sides this summer. Reportedly, even German giants Bayern Munich now see him as a viable transfer target.
Lastly, the name of Marc Casado has been mentioned on the list as well. A unique case, Casado enjoyed a great season with Barcelona in the last campaign but soon lost his starting position to Frenkie de Jong. Today, it seems that several players are now ahead of him in the pecking order.
However, it was previously reported that Barcelona have already set an asking price for him. Thus, if any interested side does emerge with a strong intention to pursue his signing, they may already have a price tag for reference.
