Graeme Bailey on TBR Football has reported that FC Barcelona want to sign Tyrick Mitchell. The Blaugrana want to sign a left-back and have been looking into the transfer market for quite some time. The Crystal Palace left-back has attracted the interest of Barcelona. However, his agent and intermediaries want him to move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Mitchell has been one of the best left-backs in the Premier League since he started playing for the first team at Crystal Palace. The player played in the academies of Pinner Albion, AFC Wembley, and Brentford before making a move to Crystal Palace.
He first played for Crystal Palace’s first team in the latter half of the 2019-20 season. However, he has been a regular in the playing XI since the 2021/22 season. He has already scored three goals and provided 20 assists in his tenure for Palace so far in his career.
Mitchell’s performances have attracted the attention of some of the most elite clubs in England and also in Europe. Barcelona are one of the best clubs who are very much interested in his talent. However, the intermediaries want him to play for Tottenham Hotspur, who also want to sign him.

Barca want to find an alternative and also a substitute who can compete with Alejandro Balde, who has featured in the left-back position for the club. The Catalan side is thin at that position and hence Hansi Flick has turned his attention towards Mitchell.
Tottenham are also scouting the transfer market ahead of January for a left-back. Ben Davies could go on to leave the club in the summer transfer window for free. So, Tottenham wants to get a new left-back who could play for the club in that position and compete with Destiny Udogie.
Mitchell will start the final six months of his contract with Crystal Palace in January. So, the Spurs will definitely have a go at him. However, Barca might sign him on a pre-contract agreement given that the history and the legacy of the Catalan club is much more than what Tottenham possesses and hence will definitely be the one to attract Mitchell.
Tyrick Mitchell at 25 years age will definitely ponder about which cub to choose at this stage of his career. If he moves to Barcelona, he will get a legacy club to display his talent and also enhance his skills. However, playing at Tottenham will help him to play in the first team week and week out and also stay in the Premier League. So, it would be wiser if he goes on to stay in England at his current time and continues his career under Ange Postecoglou.
