Las Palmas defender Julián Araujo is set to be unavailable for the club’s next four fixtures.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have today provided an insight into the punishment handed down to the 22-year-old for his recent red card.

Araujo, for his part, was sent for an early bath in Las Palmas’ fiery Copa del Rey defeat at the hands of Tenerife last weekend.

This came after the Mexican international, with his side trailing by two goals to nil, struck an opposing player in the head.

Despite many having expressed the opinion that the red card proved a harsh one, the RFEF evidently feel little sympathy for Araujo.

In turn, they have come to the decision that his actions, deemed as violent conduct, meet the necessary criteria for a four-match ban.

The right-back, who has enjoyed an impressive stint in Las Palmas colours since joining on loan from Barcelona in the summer, will as a result sit out upcoming meetings with all of Villarreal, Rayo Vallecano, Real Madrid, and Granada.
