The future of Vitor Roque has been a subject of much debate within the Barcelona camp lately, especially amid speculation linking him with a move to Palmeiras.

Roque currently plies his trade for Real Betis on loan. However, there has been strong interest from Palmeiras, who are willing to break the bank to sign the forward before the Brazilian transfer window shuts on February 28.

However, the major hurdle for Palmeiras has been Roque’s loan deal, which doesn’t expire until the end of the season.

Palmeiras set to come up with an offer for Roque

According to Matteo Moretto, Real Betis’ idea is to relieve Roque of his services only at the end of the season. They are not looking to let him leave midway through the campaign.

This is something even Barcelona agree to. But Palmeiras have yet to lose any hope, it seems.

As per the report, the Brazilian outfit are set to table an offer for Roque soon, which is expected to be quite substantial.

This is where Barcelona’s role could become pivotal, especially considering the fact that the club could certainly use some fresh inflow on account of Roque’s potential sale.

However, at the end of the day, Real Betis must set the final approval if Roque is to join Palmeiras in the coming days.

Whatever may be the case, Barça, for their part, would prefer confirming the sale of Roque as soon as possible so that they can finally go after newer attackers in the coming summer.

Recent reports suggest the club are already tracking at least four forwards across Europe, including the likes of Rafael Leao and Luis Diaz.

The sale of Roque, to that end, could go a long way in helping Barcelona make the necessary space to accommodate a new forward in the coming season.
