This comes amid widespread speculation that a future reunion could be on the cards between club and player.

Mingueza, for his part, departed boyhood club Barcelona back in the summer of 2022, to link up with La Liga rivals Celta Vigo.

As part of the agreement between the clubs, however, the former secured for themselves a buyback clause, set at an altogether reasonable €9 million.

With Mingueza fresh of a scintillating start to the new campaign, which has seen the versatile defender notch two goals and three assists in four appearances, it has in turn been suggested that the Camp Nou brass could soon look to make use of this option.

Speaking in an interview with Marca (as cited by Mundo Deportivo) on Friday, the subject of as much, in turn, was put to the 25-year-old himself.

In his response, however, Mingueza was keen to reiterate his commitment to the cause at Balaídos:

“Right now I’m not worried about anything. I’m focused on what I do. I have things very clear, I know what I want and right now it’s to be at Celta and have a very good season on an individual and collective level. The coach and the board know what I want, I have things very clear. I’m focused on having a good year and at Celta.”
