Jordi Alba will go down as one of the greatest full-backs in Barcelona’s history. As he closes his trophy-laden chapter at the Catalan club, the Spaniard seeks new challenges to overcome.

Alba, in his final season for Barca, morphed into more of a mentor figure, playing as a backup to Balde. His playtime was minimal, but his contributions remained highly significant. At the age of 34, Alba will be factoring in his physical limitations while choosing his next club.

According to Adrià Albets (H/T Carrusel Deportivo), the Barcelona legend has many options on the table. Given his stature and legacy, avid interest in him does not surprise.

From Europe, Inter Milan, and Atletico Madrid are the two powerhouses that have inquired about Alba’s situation with his agents.

Inter are coming on the back of a Champions League final and ended their domestic season in third place, which showcases their prominence as a European giant. Playing for the Italians, Alba has the opportunity to continue fighting for titles.

Similarly, Atletico Madrid are also one of the world’s most renowned institutions and will offer the player highly competitive football.

However, having played almost the entirety of his career at Barcelona, Alba will have to make the sacrifice of directly competing with his boyhood club in La Liga if he decides to join Simeone’s roster. Such a scenario is unlikely for the player, knowing his love for Barca.

On the other hand, more lucrative offers exist from clubs residing outside of Europe. As per the report, Saudi Arabia already have sent a proposal to the veteran left-back.

With the Saudis aiming to bolster their league with the inclusion of star-studded names, Alba will most likely earn a great deal, while competing with some of the top legends, like Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lastly, Inter Miami have also asked about the player. The MLS side recently acquired the signature of Lionel Messi and now aspire to surround him with players he feels comfortable with.

Alba and Messi’s connection on and off the pitch is likely to be a motivator for the Spaniard.

Entering the final stages of his career, Alba has the luxury of choosing between many top destinations. Nonetheless, with a successful chapter at Barcelona, the likelihood of playing away from the spotlight in clubs outside of Europe is a more realistic scenario.
