Andres Iniesta‘s days at Barcelona were very special.

The Spanish maestro was at the heart of a Catalan midfield that dominated Spain and beyond as he, Xavi and Sergio Busquets formed a terrific trio.

Iniesta was the embodiment of Pep Guardiola’s famed tiki-taka mantra, spending his days passing the opposition to death or setting a certain Lionel Messi merrily on his way.

His success, however, extended beyond Barcelona as well, with Iniesta proving to be a crucial cog in the Spanish juggernaut that won two European Championships and the World Cup.

Iniesta’s personal record book reads quite ridiculously with the Spaniard boasting four Champions League winners’ medals to go with his nine La Liga titles.

During his time in the famous colours of Catalonia, he would play a staggering 673 games, scoring 57 goals and notching up 138 assists.

Lump his 131 caps for Spain into the mix, and you begin to get a picture of just how special the midfielder was.

However, if for some reason you are in need of further evidence, then we’ve got you covered with some footage of Iniesta in his pomp.

Backed into a corner during a Champions League clash with Spartak Moscow, Iniesta showed his obscene coolness under pressure, dinking and dabbing his way out of a very sticky situation.

In just a matter of seconds, Iniesta has twice sent two defenders to the shops before breaking forward to begin another attack for Barca.

Check out the brilliant piece of play in the clip below:

How does he make it look so easy?

You simply can’t help but feel awfully sorry for the hapless opposition who had had absolutely no chance of nicking the ball off of him.

Iniesta has since moved on to pastures new, now plying his trade on Japanese shores with Vissel Kobe.

Thus far, the diminutive wizard has turned out on 118 occasions for the Japanese side, scoring 25 goals and notching up 26 assists.
