Those behind the scenes at La Liga champions Barcelona have been left hugely disappointed by a recent transfer carried out by Manchester United.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who highlight the Red Devils’ deal for Benjamin Šeško as the move in question.
Frontman Šeško is for his part fresh off putting pen to paper on terms at Old Trafford, in a big-money transfer from RB Leipzig.
Man United are understood to have beaten out widespread interest to strike a deal for the Slovenian, considered a potential star in the making across the continent.
And as alluded to above, one such club to have also been closely tracking Šeško’s development with a view to a future transfer swoop were Barcelona.
That’s according to Sport, who suggest that the Blaugrana had identified the 22-year-old as the ideal replacement for Robert Lewandowski for the summer of 2026:
‘The Blaugrana sporting management has been particularly hurt by the signing of Benjamin Sesko by Manchester United. The Slovenian centre-forward was very well evaluated by Deco, who, always with a strategic vision, was weighing him up as the replacement for Robert Lewandowski.’
