While there may be difficulties signing players at the first-team level due to economic issues, FC Barcelona continue to strengthen their academy ranks with the idea of building superstars for the future from within the club.
Coming into the summer, the Blaugrana have already signed some young talents to reinforce their youth teams and more could be on the way.
Indeed, as per SPORT’s Jaume Mercet, Barcelona have shown an interest in two academy jewels of Real Zaragoza in the form of Gorka Buil and Samu Borniquel.
Buil, 14, is regarded as one of the most gifted young talents of his age group in Spain and was already playing for Zaragoza’s Cadete A team this past season.
A creative left-footed midfielder, Buil can operate as an interior, a No. 10, or even as a false-winger on the flanks. The youngster has caught everyone’s eyes with his dribbling, technical skills, and accurate shooting, and is tipped for a bright future.
As for Borniquel, the teenager is not as eye-catching as Buil but is a player with a profile that Barcelona like a lot. Someone who can operate as a No. 6 or a No. 8, the youth midfielder boasts of great touch and ball-playing characteristics.
If signed, it is expected that Buil would be straight away put into the Cadete A squad at Barcelona whereas Borniquel could become a part of the Cadete B roster for next season.
