Much of the chatter surrounding Barcelona’s hunt for a new attacker this summer has revolved around Nico Williams lately.

The Athletic Club winger has emerged as the club’s top target in the attacking unit, while the club are also eyeing a move for Liverpool’s Luis Diaz.

These two players have been the primary targets for Barcelona as they look to shore up their ranks in the offensive unit next season.

The sheer domination of these two players in the Barcelona camp has somehow overshadowed Marcus Rashford, the club’s other attacking target.

Rashford hopeful of joining Barcelona

According to Catalunya Radio (h/t FCB World), Rashford still holds out hope of joining Barcelona this summer.

The English forward, who endured a difficult 2024/25 season, is looking for a fresh start and views a move to Barcelona as the ideal next chapter in his career.

Rashford has even confirmed that the player has remained in contact with the Catalan club over the past few days. Barcelona, for their part, have not ruled out a move for the 27-year-old.

Club officials remain in touch with his camp and view Rashford as a potential fallback option depending on how the transfer market develops in the coming weeks.

With Nico Williams’ daunting million release clause posing financial hurdles and Luis Diaz’s situation at Liverpool far from straightforward, Rashford could still emerge as a feasible and cost-effective alternative.

Barcelona, therefore, are keeping its cards open and do not want to rule out moving any of their attacking targets.
