With Robert Lewandowski entering the final year of his contract at FC Barcelona and set to turn 37 years old later this month, this season is likely to be his last one at the club.
As such, the Blaugrana are monitoring the centre-forward market for potential replacements for their ace striker for 2026.
Names such as Julian Alvarez and Alexander Isak have been spoken about as marquee additions in attack, but at the same time, Barça are also on the lookout for exciting young talent with immense potential.
As such, Fichajes now reports that Barcelona are among several top clubs keeping a close eye on Villarreal forward Etta Eyong.
The 21-year-old Cameroonian striker joined the Yellow Submarine last summer from Cadiz and impressed for their B team, racking up 19 goals from 30 matches.

Eyong’s impressive form earned his first-team breakthrough, with the striker already scoring twice in five games, including once in Villarreal’s 2025/26 season opener against Real Oviedo this week.
The youngster’s emergence has caught the attention of Barcelona, who are monitoring his progress carefully before deciding on a possible future move.
However, as per the report, Barcelona are not alone in following Eyong closely, as Europe’s other biggest clubs have not been slow to take notice either.
The Cameroonian attacker still has two years left on his contract with Villarreal, who view him as both a sporting and financial asset of the highest order.
Barcelona will continue to observe Eyong patiently to see whether he confirms his potential to become a striker of top quality before deciding on making a move.
