Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is happy to be left out of Germany's squad this week.

Ter Stegen is one of the very few Barcelona players who haven't travelled to be with their national teams during this international break, with the German stopper actually agreeing with Joachim Low's decision not to call him up.

Having been recovering from an injury and only just making his return to action, the stopper is far short of match fitness and he believes that not joining up with the squad will provide him with the chance to recover the training time lost due to injury.

BILD reports the former Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper wants to ensure he is 100 percent recovered from a fitness perspective.

Injury had kept him out of action for two and a half months, although he has since returned to play two successive matches, where he has looked agile and alert.
