FC Barcelona have been working on various transfer operations in recent times. However, there are some cases in which it has become evident that the club needs to find a solution as soon as possible. One such case for Barcelona is the one involving Vitor Roque.

It has been reported that the 19-year-old South America forward is now set to return to his home country as Brazilian side Palmeiras have reached an agreement to sign him. For Barcelona, this is good news as the currently loaned striker is someone that the club does not see as an important part of their future.

However, given that the player was currently loaned to Real Betis, the Andalusian side also wanted to be compensated. Given that Roque is a part of their squad and adds competitive integrity to Manuel Pellegrini’s squad, the La Liga side believes that they must be compensated as well if Roque ends up joining Palmeiras.

With FIFA green lighting the operation, Real Betis have given their approval as well but at a particular cost for Barcelona. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barça ended up having to involve the contract and future of one of their other assets who is also directly involved with the Andalusian side.

Abde Ezzalzouli, aged 23, is a Moroccan winger who has his rights divided between Barcelona and Real Betis. The latter previously owned 50% of the player’s rights, but the Catalan giants have now given them an additional 30% for letting Vitor Roque’s loan be terminated earlier than originally planned.

As per MD’s evaluation, the additional 30% that Barcelona has now handed over to Betis is worth around €4.5 million. On the other hand, Roque will see part of his salary be covered by Palmeiras for the rest of the season as well, which increases the compensation received by Betis to around €6 million.

The entire transfer, on the other hand, sees the Brazilian side pay €25.5 million in exchange for 80% of Roque’s rights, as well as add-ons. However, as per the report, there are still some details that are yet to be ironed out between the involved parties.
