Barcelona are interested in Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.

Sport says Barca like the Argentine defender and sporting director Mateu Alemany may travel to Amsterdam to open talks with Ajax to find out their position on a possible transfer.

Lisandro has been linked with Barça for several years. The left-sided centre-back has been at a good level for a while now and Barça have good reports on him from the games they have watched him live.

Any operation would not be easy, though, because he has a contract until 2025.

Therefore, Ajax would likely command a decent fee and signing another central defender is not among Barça's priorities at the moment.
