According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have informed Miralem Pjanic that he will not be in their plan for next season.

Since his transfer to Barcelona last September, the Bosnian has found it difficult to make his presence felt. Last season, he only managed six starts for the Catalans in the league.

His signing was not in synchronization with the manager’s plans. In the deal made with Juventus to balance the books, the 31-year-old found himself scapegoated and stranded in a club where he was not needed.

Moreover, the sublime form of Frenkie de Jong and the meteoric rise of Pedri has rendered it almost impossible for the Bosnian to see any action in the garnet-and-blue colors.

Earlier this month, reports stated that the player was unwilling to accept a pay-cut to make a transfer possible. Things seem to have changed now, and there is more positive news from the midfielders party.

Pjanic has now agreed to lower his wage in order to leave Barcelona, as per the same report. This opens up a plethora of clubs for Barcelona to negotiate a potential transfer with.

The 31-year-old’s agents are said to be in talks with numerous clubs in Italy. Of them, Inter Milan and Juventus stand out the most.

A move back to Italy would be a great option for the midfielder, with him already having wonderful memories in Serie A.

As the transfer window draws to a close, Miralem Pjanic’s departure seems to be moving in the right direction. That said, the chances of him being at Catalonia for the coming season are extremely thin.
