The redemption of Raphinha has been one of the key highlights of Barcelona’s season so far.

From being linked with a summer exit, the attacker has turned it around to become a vital cog in Hansi Flick’s attacking setup, racking up five goals and three assists in just seven league matches.

As mentioned earlier, in the summer, Raphinha was one of the major sale candidates for Barcelona, as they were looking to trim the squad and reduce the wage bill.

Raphinha rejected bumper offers from Saudi Arabia

Raphinha, for his part, had the chance to leave Barcelona and secure a bumper salary, but he rejected those advances.

Indeed, a report from Miguel Rico suggests Raphinha had received an offer from Al Nassr in the summer, with a high salary package.

Al Nassr were willing to pay €80 million to Barcelona as well, for the services of the Brazilian.

Raphinha, though, did not budget and opted to continue at Barcelona. He received a similar offer from Al Hilal, who were willing to offer him a ‘boatload’ of money.

But the Brazilian rejected the advances from his former coach Jorge Mendes as well. He had rejected similar proposals from other clubs as well including Chelsea.

Raphinha’s only goal at Barcelona

Raphinha rejected all these offers with only one goal in mind: To succeed at Barcelona. He was hell-bent on turning things around, especially after the departure of Xavi Hernandez.

Raphinha’s bet paid off as the forward has seen an exponential improvement in his game under the leadership of new coach Flick.

The former Leeds United star, as mentioned earlier, has now become an important member of the Barcelona attack.

Raphinha’s success has reflected well on the international stage, too, with Brazil recently including him in the squad after a snub last time.
