With less than a month to go for three summer transfer window to begin, Barcelona have a solid plan in place. Though not much is known about all the players the club is targetting, the Catalans are said to have identified the positions that need urgent reinforcement.
The signings of Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie are steps in the same direction and have both been sealed before the commencement of the transfer window.
According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, as relayed by Caught Offside. Barcelona are in very advanced talks with Raphinha to sign him until 2027. The two parties have been in close contact since March and are now closer than ever to an agreement.
The player too, considers it a priority to join the Blaugranes. Yet, talks between Barcelona and Leeds United have not begun because the Spanish outfit want to respect the Premier League side in their relegation battle.
If Leeds are relegated, Raphinha will be allowed to leave the club for a very nominal fee of €25 million. However, if they are safe, the Azulgranas will have to possibly shell out as much as €60 million for his transfer.
Raphinha was initially seen as a signing to replace the contract rebel Ousmane Dembele. Now, with the Frenchman’s renewal looking like a possibility again, it will be interesting to see where Xavi deploys the winger in his lineup.
Newcastle United and Chelsea have made their interest in the winger known in recent days. However, Barcelona continue to occupy the driver’s seat. It remains to be seen as to which side appeals the most to the Brazilian international.
