In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Barcelona have identified Liverpool winger Luis Diaz as a target for the summer transfer window. It has been stated that the Catalan club are eyeing a move to bring the Colombia international to the Nou Camp later this year.

Diaz’s Impressive Campaign At Merseyside

Diaz is enjoying a good season at Anfield as he has put in a series of eye-catching performances on the left side of Jurgen Klopp’s attack. The South American talent has scored 13 goals and picked up four assists in 46 appearances for Liverpool during this campaign across all fronts.

The 27-year-old has been a decent performer in the final third based on his average of 2.6 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has also been accurate when distributing possession from the left flank after making 84.9% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the Merseyside club will expire in the summer of 2027 which would make it difficult for Barca to get a deal done for him on the cheap in the upcoming transfer period.

Should Barcelona Get Diaz On Board This Summer?

Diaz has got the pace to cause a lot of problems for his marker out in the wide areas. He has got the vision to engineer a few promising chances for his teammates on the offensive end of the field and can even strike the ball with venom from long range.

The Colombian sensation can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from the left flank. He is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also fill in as a right-winger or as a centre-forward if required.

We can expect Luiz to add more pace and goals to Barcelona‘s frontline. Hence, it makes sense for the Catalan club to go all out to get him on board when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

Barca to consider at the end of this season. However, only time will tell whether he can maintain his good form in La Liga if Barcelona manage to sign him later this year.
