With the transfer window in its final stretch, FC Barcelona are likely to see a few more exits in the coming weeks.
Hector Fort, Inaki Pena, and Oriol Romeu are three players who are destined to leave the club, as the three do not have a place in Hansi Flick’s plans.
Providing an update on the situation of Romeu, SPORT now reports that Barcelona hope to finalise the veteran midfielder’s contract termination in the coming week.
The operation will involve the club paying the Spaniard a sum of money before he can leave the club as a free agent, even though he still has a year left on his contract.
Romeu has attracted interest from several clubs in La Liga, including his former team Girona, where he spent the last season on loan.

At the same time, the report adds that a move to Major League Soccer in the USA is also a possibility for Romeu this summer.
The midfielder, a former La Masia trainee, joined Barcelona from Girona in 2023 to fill the hole left by Sergio Busquets’ departure.
After a fairly solid start under Xavi Hernandez, Romeu soon lost prominence and became a peripheral figure before being loaned back to Girona last summer upon the arrival of Hansi Flick.
The veteran star stayed behind in Barcelona when the rest of the squad went on the pre-season tour of Asia this summer.
Now, Barcelona hope to have his exit sorted in the coming days with a termination of contract expected to be agreed upon soon.
