With Robert Lewandowski dropping a huge hint that he is set to leave Bayern Munich this summer, Barcelona have received a major boost in pursuit of the striker.

The 33-year-old had informed Bayern Munich earlier this week that he wishes to move on from the club and would not be signing a new contract. And on Saturday, after Die Roten’s last Bundesliga game of the season, he claimed that it could be his final game for the club.

While Bayern still insist that he has one year left on his deal, they are preparing for his departure, reports Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer expert then goes on to add that Lewandowski has his heart set on a move to Barcelona in the summer window.

It is claimed that the Poland international is excited by the prospect of playing for the Catalans and testing himself in La Liga and has been exploring the possibility of moving to Camp Nou for months.

Romano adds that Barcelona have held three meetings with Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi and the personal terms have already been sorted and agreed upon between the two parties.

Indeed, as per the journalist, the Blaugrana are ready to meet the striker’s three-year contract demand. They could offer him a two-year deal with a one-year option or a direct three-year contract, with wages and other details already being sorted.

So, what now remains is for the two clubs to agree a transfer fee so as to finalise the deal. Romano adds that Lewandowski is likely to push the Bavarian giants to reach an agreement over a fee at the earliest as he seeks to join Barcelona.

Lewandowski has enjoyed another spectacular 2021/22 campaign, bagging 50 goals in all competitions. His tally of 35 strikes in 34 Bundesliga matches earned the centre-forward another Torjgerkanone trophy – the seventh of his career.
