Frontman Lewandowski was for his part of course forced to sit out on Saturday night, as Barcelona got the club’s La Liga campaign up and running in a meeting with RCD Mallorca.

As much came after the Pole picked up a muscular issue during the final week of the Blaugrana’s pre-season preparations.

Upon Barcelona making news of Lewandowski’s blow public, it was suggested that the former Bayern Munich man could miss a number of his side’s upcoming fixtures.

As alluded to above, however, if the latest word doing the rounds on Sunday is anything to go by, then as much now appears altogether unlikely.

As per a report from Barca insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS:

‘Lewandowski’s recovery is going better than initially expected by the medical team, so barring any setbacks, the Polish striker will be available for the matchday two LaLiga match against Levante.’
