With the season almost at its end, FC Barcelona are working out plans for the summer transfer window so as to build a strong squad that can topple arch-rivals Real Madrid.

At the same time, there are likely to be some exits from the club, one of which could be on-loan forward Joao Felix.

The Portuguese international’s loan deal at Barcelona ends on June 30 and an extended stay at the club is something that he, the club, and Atletico Madrid are exploring.

Two factors key to Joao Felix continuity

Now, SPORT reports that Joao Felix’s continuity at Barcelona next season depends on two major factors.

The first factor is who will be Barça’s coach next season and second, the club’s financial capacity to carry out this type of operation in the summer.

Xavi has not always been high on Joao Felix and has not always been using the Atletico Madrid loanee regularly.

Reports have suggested that the 24-year-old is one of the players who is not entirely happy with the treatment he has received from the manager.

As such, who will be the head coach at the club next season could impact Joao Felix’s future.

Meanwhile, negotiations with Atletico Madrid will not be straightforward either as they are demanding a significant sum for his sale.

Barcelona would prefer another loan arrangement but the Rojiblancos might not be fully onboard with that idea.

So, it remains to be seen whether the Portuguese international, who has scored ten goals and set up six more this season, continues at Barcelona or not.
