Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski has promised that he will be in much better shape next season under the command of Hansi Flick.

Lewandowski’s Poland had a tough time at the Euro Cup, where his physical issues and the team’s poor performance left them with only one point.

This lone point came in their final match against an unusually weak France, where Lewandowski’s goal came from a penalty that was full of suspense and had to be retaken to count.

After wrapping up his international duties, Lewandowski did not shy away from answering tricky questions.

He began by insisting that he deserves a longer vacation than he had had in previous years. He emphasised that this break will be crucial for him to recharge and come back as a new player for the 2024-2025 season.

He firmly believes that this extended rest will allow him to return to the field in peak condition, ready to take on new challenges.

“I’m ready for next season. A new challenge with a new coach. I’m positive,” said the forward as quoted by SPORT.

Lewandowski is confident that under Flick’s management, he will be able to improve his physical condition significantly. He is optimistic about the new direction Barcelona are heading in and believes that Flick’s leadership will bring positive changes to the team.

“In recent years, like other teammates, I have had few vacations. Now I will also have more time to prepare and return better physically,” he asserted.

Lewandowski’s commitment to better physical conditioning shows his dedication to his career and his determination to help his team succeed.

His insistence on a longer vacation highlights the importance of rest and recovery in maintaining peak performance. It also shows his understanding of the need for balance between intense competition and adequate rest.

Lastly, he also spoke about the Spanish national team, saying that Luis de la Fuente’s team is the favourite to win this year’s competition.

“Spain is a team that has shown a lot of quality, that has been very good defensively and that has also scored a lot of goals.

“For me, Spain has a great chance of winning the Euro Cup. But there is also Germany or France. Many things can happen in a match, and luck sometimes also plays a role,” explained the forward.
