In yet another injury blow, FC Barcelona midfielder Pedri has been ruled out of the club’s upcoming La Liga clash against UD Almeria, reports Mundo Deportivo.

The 21-year-old participated in training today on the eve of the Almeria clash, but suffered some muscular discomfort during the session.

As such, Pedri is now ruled out of tomorrow’s game against Almeria, which comes as a big blow for Barcelona, considering that they are already without another key midfielder in Frenkie de Jong, due to suspension.

Meanwhile, the report also suggests that Pedri will also miss the mid-season friendly against Club America in Dallas on Thursday due to the discomfort.

Concern for Barcelona

Pedri’s injury is a worry for Barcelona, considering that the 21-year-old has been struggling with fitness problems on a regular basis in recent years.

The youngster already missed close to two months of action this season due to an injury and as such, the Catalans do not wish to take any risk by fielding him against Almeria or Club America this week.

Xavi & co. will be hoping that the issue with the Spaniard is not serious and that he is ready to return soon after the mid-season Christmas break.

Along with Pedri, Barcelona will also be without Marcos Alonso, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and Inigo Martinez for tomorrow’s clash due to injuries. As mentioned earlier, de Jong is out because of suspension.
