Sofyan Amrabat has emerged as one of Barcelona’s desired options as they look to find a long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets this summer.

The club have been probing a move for the Fiorentina star for a while now and were notably interested in a January move for the player. They are once again interested in incorporating his services ahead of the new season.

However, according to La Nazione, as relayed by Diario SPORT, Fiorentina are pushing pressure on Barcelona by opening up to offers from other clubs across Europe. The report points out that Bayern Munich, Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid have all shown their interest in the player in recent weeks.

Fiorentina are open to negotiating with the highest bidder. They are also persistent on their €30 million valuation of the player, which appears to be a tall order considering the fact that the player’s contract at the club expires at the end of next season.

Fiorentina are open to lowering the price tag if there is a loan option included in the deal. Nevertheless, the job could become trickier for Barcelona due to the newfound competition for the services of Amrabat.

Not to mention, the club are still grappling with the Financial Fair Play regulations. That means the Blaugrana cannot make a move for any player without getting rid of the unwanted stars in the team and reducing the salary mass of the squad.

The Catalans do have one thing going for them, though. It appears Amrabat himself is keen on playing for Barcelona and is not too keen on talking to other clubs. This has already put off Bayern Munich, who are searching for other alternatives in the market.

But for the move to advance, Barcelona must make the economic provision for Amrabat. These are still early times, though, and a lot more details could come out in the coming weeks.
