Barcelona are reportedly eyeing a surprise move for Valencia captain Daniel Parejo.
Parejo was linked to the LaLiga champions last summer who opted to sign Paulinho instead and then Philippe Coutinho in January.
According to Sport, the former Real Madrid midfielder is an ‘express wish’ of manager Ernesto Valverde although the hierarchy are still to be convinced.
Parejo has a €50m buy-out clause in his contract at Mestalla, something that could prove to be a major stumbling block.
Barça have also been linked with Miralem Pjanić and N’Golo Kanté this summer with midfield an area they are clearly targeting.
Following the departures of Andrés Iniesta and Paulinho they are suddenly light in numbers and will need a new addition for depth.
