Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has not only delivered results on the pitch, but he has also brought about a remarkable surge in matchday attendance and revenue, according to a report from AS.

The German tactician’s exciting brand of football has clearly resonated with the fans, transforming Montjuic into a fortress both competitively and commercially.

The club has enjoyed one of its most lucrative and well-attended seasons at Montjuïc, with five matches drawing nearly or more than 50,000 fans, a remarkable achievement for a temporary stadium setup.

The season ended with 49,558 fans attending the match against Villarreal, marking the fifth-highest turnout of the season.

Just a week prior, the El Clasico against Real Madrid set the record with 50,318 spectators, in a match where Barça practically sealed the league title with a thrilling 4-3 win.

These numbers demonstrate not just consistency, but a revived passion among fans. The average attendance this season rose sharply to 46,095, a significant increase from last year’s 42,765.

Overall, 1,290,670 fans attended matches at Montjuïc this season, compared to just 983,616 last year, an increase of more than 300,000 supporters, even accounting for two additional matches played.

Even the lowest-attended game, against Leganes, drew a respectable 39,523 fans, reinforcing the strength of the fanbase and their connection to Flick’s revitalised Barcelona.

Looking ahead, there’s cautious optimism but also logistical challenges. Barcelona are expected to return to the Camp Nou next season, though with only 50% capacity available due to ongoing renovations.

Meeting the overwhelming demand from club members and fans will be no small feat. The club will need to implement creative ticketing solutions and fair access systems to manage the surge in interest.

Nevertheless, the Hansi Flick era is already proving transformative, not just for its on-field progress but also for the club’s financial and fan engagement metrics.
