Barcelona encouraged after latest Dembele contract talks

Barcelona have been encouraged after the latest round of new contract talks with Ousmane Dembele.

Having appeared all set to be offloaded this summer with his deal having less than 12 months to run, Sport says a breakthrough has now been found.

Dembele is open to agreeing a shorter deal, either to 2023 or 2024 and even a slight wage reduction.

There is now optimism on both sides that an agreement can be reached.

The France international, as it stands, could commit to a foreign team from January 1 and leave for free next summer.
