We meet new breakout stars every season, and this year, Arthur Vermeeren is taking over the Champions League.
The Antwerp ace found the net against Barcelona on Wednesday just 76 seconds into the match, which sent the home fans wild.
A wobbly touch from Oriol Romeu gifted the ball to the 18-year-old, who volleyed home past a helpless Iñaki Peña Sotorres.
And his first Champions League goal means no teenager has been directly involved in more goals this season than Vermeeren (three).
Additionally, he is both the youngest Belgian player ever to score in the UCL and the player with the fastest goal for a Belgian team.
It’s an extremely early goal to concede for Xavi’s side, who will surely be feeling the pressure even though they’ve already reached the knockouts.
