Barcelona duo Ousmane Dembele and Andreas Christensen have returned from injuries and are in the squad to face Real Betis this weekend.
Dembele picked up a hamstring injury on January 28, and the club thought he would miss around eight games.
However, the player has missed three months of football action. He returned to training a few weeks ago and has progressed gradually.
At one point, the club was frustrated with how long he was out, but he will now return to action.
The Catalans have missed his speed and dynamism on the flanks. Before the injury, he had bagged eight goals and seven assists in all competitions.
Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has missed his partner in attack. The Pole has been suffering from a dip in form which analysts have connected to Dembele’s absence.
The former Stade Rennais attacker will hope for some competitive minutes as he returns to fitness.
Christensen is also in the squad for the Betis game. The centre-back sustained a calf injury during the March international break with Denmark.
The former Chelsea defender had to come off in the first half of his team’s clash with Finland.
Christensen has been impressive since joining the club on a free transfer this summer. He is dominant in the air and reads the game superbly on the ground.
The return of both players will boost the Catalans as they need all the help they can get for the Betis clash.
They lost their last La Liga game to Rayo Vallecano and would hope to bounce back with a positive result this weekend.
Despite the loss at the Estadio de Vallecas, Barca remain top of the La Liga table with an 11-point lead over second-placed Real Madrid.
They will be keen to wrap up the title as early as possible and avoid any more slip-ups.
