One area that Barcelona may look to address during the summer is right-back. Jules Kounde has impressed there over the last two seasons, but he’s unlikely to be a permanent fixture going forward, as his preferred position is in the centre of defence.
The position looked more problematic earlier in the season, before the emergence of Hector Fort. Barcelona did not have a long-term solution at that stage, and this led them to eyeing up Sevilla’s Juanlu Sanchez, as reported by MD.
Juanlu started against Barcelona at the Estadi Olimpic earlier in the season, and despite producing an impressive performance, he was discarded as a target by Los Blaugrana’s sporting department after that match, as he did not convince them with his ability.
Sevilla will be pleased that one of Juanlu’s possible suitors has subsided. The youngster has been linked with Real Madrid in recent months, but it doesn’t appear that will be heading to Barcelona, at least.
