Hansi Flick has managed to transform this FC Barcelona team into something incredible. From being a side that could barely compete to now being a contender for every title, Flick’s magic has definitely worked. However, even for Barcelona, there is room for improvement.
One position in particular where La Blaugrana are looking to strengthen themselves is the left-wing position. For Barcelona, that position is one where they lacked natural options last season, and it is one where they believe that a new face could freshen things up.
With various players being linked to the Catalan giants, it was always going to be difficult to choose or pursue one player. While Liverpool’s Luis Diaz seems to be the priority target in terms of recent reports, another Barcelona target’s agent just recently met with Deco as well.
According to the latest update provided by SPORT, Deco just recently met with Felix Tainta. This particular agent just so happens to represent Athletic Club winger Nico Williams, a player who Barcelona have been keeping an eye on since quite some time.
While his potential move to the club last summer never ended up happening, it seems that no doors are fully closed just yet despite the club’s apparent reluctance to sign the player now. Even with Diaz in the picture, Barcelona seem to want to keep their options open in case something goes wrong.

As per the report, however, Tainta met with Deco in a hotel in Barcelona to better understand the club’s position towards the player. Beyond just his undeniable talents, the 22-year-old winger’s release clause is set at around €60 million and it is considered an affordable price for most top clubs.
For the likes of Bayern Munich and Arsenal, both of which are interested in the Spanish winger, he is a player who is considered a high priority target as well and he has an affordable price tag considering his release clause. However, despite this interest, the player would reportedly prefer to stay in Spain and he would be open to joining Barcelona as well if the club backs him and gives certain guarantees.
Moreover, he seems to be quite close to some of the players in the Barcelona locker room and that could play a part as well. However, only time will tell what ends up happening and whether or not Barcelona eventually end up going for him or not.
For now, there is also the possibility of Croatian veteran Ivan Perisic to consider as well. Reportedly, the player is currently waiting for Barcelona and is yet to commit himself to anything at all until and unless he knows for sure what the intentions of the Catalan club are.
