Many would argue that the current issues plaguing Barcelona come in multiples. Not one area can be singled out as the only problem with the Catalan giants. Instead, it is a plethora and accumulation of issues that continue to haunt Barcelona this season.

The recent loss to Girona only further highlighted this, and fingers were pointed in various directions. Barcelona president Joan Laporta seemed visibly frustrated, and then along came reports of significant consequences being yet to come. However, for someone else quite close to Laporta, a lot of frustration was directed towards a certain head coach.

According to AS, a recent podcast that claims to have information from within the Montilivi box on the occasion of the defeat to Girona, claims that while the Barcelona president’s reactions were furious, club director Deco was arguably even more vocal about his discontent and his reactions of frustration were primarily directed towards Xavi Hernandez.

It has already been previously reported that Deco and Xavi do not always see eye to eye. This has been reported from the inside as well as has been observed on certain occasions explicitly. These differences between the Barcelona coach and club director seem to still be intact, as Deco’s clear sense of agitation with Xavi may only be the tip of the iceberg.

Moreover, with the entire Vitor Roque situation also on full blast, a player whose arrival was advanced thanks to the connections that Deco maintains in Brazil, there may be many invisible cogs that continue their rotations within Barcelona.

Furthermore, according to AS, the distance between Xavi and Deco continues to be prominent. Even the summer signings that arrived seem to lean more towards the selections made by the Brazilian director rather than those wanted by the Barcelona coach himself.

With Xavi already expected to stay another season, it would appear that Deco’s involvement may not be too prominent in that decision. On the other hand, Joan Laporta seems to continue showcasing his faith in the Blaugrana coach and former icon, but given the current state of affairs, a lot of chaos is brewing within FC Barcelona.
