According to reports from SPORT, the Frenchman insists that it is his agent who has to manage the figures for his renewal. Moreover, the Spanish outlet add that new contacts between the club and Dembele’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, are expected to take place tomorrow.

After placing exorbitant wage demands at Laporta’s doorstep, Dembele now seems to have his feet grounded again. The winger has reportedly informed Xavi of his willingness to accept a new deal at Camp Nou. He reiterated his comfort at the club and thanked the manager for his confidence.

Dembele’s contract at Barcelona runs out in the summer. It is speculated that his entourage are misusing this leverage to secure a grand deal for their client. With less than six months left on the current concordat, the player is free to negotiate with clubs on a pre-contract.
