As reported by SPORT, Tottenham Hotspur have made a fresh enquiry to Barcelona over the availability of Dutch forward Memphis Depay this summer.

During the negotiations for the French defender, the north London club are reported to have asked about the availability of Depay as they look to sign the Netherlands international to further bolster their frontline.

Depay is staring at an uncertain future at Barcelona despite only joining the club last summer. The 28-year-old arrived on a free transfer and signed a two-year contract while finishing his debut campaign in Catalonia as the Catalans’ joint top scorer.

The Netherlands international has no intention of leaving Camp Nou as things stand. But, his hand could be forced as Barcelona are planning to add Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha to their attacking roster while Ousmane Dembele could also re-sign.

It would leave Depay on the periphery, as Barcelona also have plenty of other attacking talent in the form of Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyag.

So, Barcelona are open to selling the former Manchester United forward and have informed the same to his representatives in a recent meeting.

And with Tottenham now seemingly interested, the Catalans are demanding at least €20 million for his services, which seems to be a fair price considering that he is in the final year of his contract.

Whether the Lilywhites, who recently splashed big money to sign Richarlison from Everton, are willing to go after Depay and meet Barça’s valuation remains the question.

If Barcelona fail to find a suitor for the 28-year-old, the club could look to hand him a new contract in order to protect his value and avoid the risk of losing him for free next year.
