Barcelona defender Gerard Pique is ready to risk avoiding surgery on his injured knee.

AS says Pique has made an irrevocable decision to not undergo surgery on his damaged ACL.

Instead, he will undergo rehab and work towards returning in four months' time. If he had agreed to surgery, Pique was facing up to eight months out.

The defender's decision has the full support of Barca's medical staff.

This was in contrast to Dr Ramon Cugat, who had recommended to Pique he undergo surgery after the veteran had sought his second opinion.
