Barcelona defender identified as a serious transfer target for Chelsea | OneFootball

It looks like Chelsea’s centre back shortlist has been added to and not only that, the player has risen high up the list.

We have been reading these links from the Spanish media for the last couple of weeks now, but this time the English media have picked up on the rumours.

According to Goal, Chelsea have identified Barcelona centre back Ronald Araujo as a serious transfer target for the summer as they face the prospect of potentially losing three of their own centre backs as free agents come the end of the season.

They name Jules Kounde from Sevilla, and Wesley Fofana from Leicester City are also named as being high up the list, but it looks like the Uruguayan international has also joined the pair as being a serious target and high up the list as well.

His contract at Barcelona runs out in the summer of 2023, so it will soon be decision time for him and his club.
