Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen is considering his future at the club due to a lack of playing time.
Recent reports from Radio CAT (h/t FCB World), suggest that the Danish international could be on his way out if his situation does not improve in the coming days.
Christensen’s position at Barcelona has become uncertain, particularly as the club faces challenges with player rotation.
With Ansu Fati refusing to leave and Eric Garcia’s departure no longer an option, Christensen’s path to regular minutes has become more complicated.
Despite his proven reliability and experience, Christensen has struggled to secure a spot in the starting line-up.
Although some reports indicate that the defender remains committed to fulfilling his contract, which runs until 2026, the current competition within the squad poses a significant challenge.
He believes that over the course of a long season, his opportunities will eventually come, especially when fully fit.

However, Barcelona’s financial situation could see the club entertaining the idea of his departure.
Moving Christensen could help the Catalan giants navigate their financial fair play restrictions and even open the door for strengthening the squad with potential signings.
Christensen’s season has been hampered by injury, keeping him sidelined for five months. Although he received medical clearance earlier this month, he has made only one appearance this season.
The defensive duo of Ronald Araujo and Pau Cubarsi has established itself as the preferred pairing at the back, further reducing Christensen’s chances of featuring regularly.
In midfield, Marc Casado and Pedri have secured their places, while Frenkie de Jong has also been utilised as a versatile option. Garcia remains another reliable choice for manager Hansi Flick.
Given these circumstances, Christensen’s prospects at Barcelona appear increasingly limited.
As a result, he is contemplating a move away from the club in search of more consistent playing time, a decision that could have significant implications for both the player and the team.
