It is no secret that FC Barcelona would love to be able to reinforce their team as they like. The Catalan giants were unsuccessful from a sporting perspective this season, and it left a bad taste in their mouths. Next season, however, Barcelona would love to recover their best version and be able to fight for everything.

However, the reality of things makes that dream much harder to see become a reality. With their economic limitations greatly impairing Barcelona from engaging in high-profile transfer operations, they have to act smartly and choose their priorities wisely and appropriately.

That is where they must reason with the reality of their finances, and keeping in mind that the signing of a new pivot is crucial, make sacrifices elsewhere when it comes to acquiring new players. One such position could be the left-winger role, where the reportedly ideal signing of Nico Williams could be too expensive for them.

In comes Ayoze Perez, a 30-year-old winger who plays for La Liga side Real Betis. According to SPORT, he is seen as a feasible low-cost signing that Barcelona could end up going for in the event that the arrival of the Athletic Club winger becomes too far-fetched a dream.

Perez, on the other hand, is a player who knows the ins and outs of the league quite well. Having scored 11 goals this season, he is no slouch when it comes to having quality either, although if he arrives it may have to be primarily as a back-up forward. Moreover, he is versatile enough to play anywhere across the frontline of his team, something that Barcelona do value.

However, and by far the most important thing in this hypothetical operation, is the price. SPORT reports that the player has an active release clause of only €4 million, and that is something that Barcelona looks quite favorably upon and could look towards in the event that their operation for Nico Williams goes off-track.

Keeping that in mind, it is still important for Barcelona to wait patiently. Only time will tell what limits La Liga permits and allows Barcelona to go to when it comes to their spending in the summer. They have been very limited previously, but now that the documents have been sent, La Liga must check and verify.
