The current objective for FC Barcelona is to facilitate the arrival of a new left-winger. Keeping that objective in mind, the club is basing other operations around it. However, it is precisely due to financial concerns that Barcelona is taking some time to deal with this matter.
As reported previously, the pursuit of a new left-winger for the club will not be a short and quick adventure. Instead, delays can be expected and it is possible that Barcelona will take until August to finally bring in a left-winger this summer.
However, that does not mean that the club has only one precise target in mind moving forward. Instead, the options involving both Liverpool forward Luis Diaz and Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford remain open for Barcelona.

In fact, according to the latest information provided by MARCA on the matter, there is still a possibility that both players could end up being signed by Barcelona this summer. At the moment, the Catalan club is reportedly working on both operations simultaneously.
The reason why this report believes that both signings could end up being feasible for Barça is through the possible structure of the deal involving Marcus Rashford. If Manchester United do agree to a loan deal with an option to buy, something that the report states that the English club is open to, it could help Barcelona with their financial situation.
However, it is true that the Rashford operation appears to be the simpler deal when compared to that of Luis Diaz despite reports suggesting that Manchester United have set an asking price for a permanent transfer as well. For the Liverpool forward, on the other hand, there would be no concessions involving a loan deal and it would have to be a straight purchase instead.
Moreover, beyond just the hefty price tag attached to the Luis Diaz operation, there is also the matter of Bayern Munich to stay aware of. The Bavarian giants have reportedly reached an agreement with the Colombian winger as well, and they possess stronger financial muscle than the Catalan giants right now.
Yet, the report does clarify that the ideal transfer target still remains the Colombian winger. However, Barcelona will ultimately make their decision based on what is feasible and what is needed for the team, and a change in the tactical setup can be expected as well if any new left-winger does end up arriving.
