FC Barcelona have officially entered the January transfer window, but signings are not exactly a priority right now. Despite having access to the winter transfer window, the Catalan club has more pressing matters to deal with right now than targeting new players. Arguably the most important one for Barcelona right now is their registration dilemma.

Both Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, the two summer signings that were brought in before the season started, are currently not registered with La Liga. As a direct consequence of that, they will be unable to feature for the team in any of the upcoming competitions that the club participates in.

However, with the entire registration process still not having been finalized as Barcelona continues to wait and even consider future options in case things go south, there is another update that could potentially help matters. While it may not directly result in both players being registered, it could be good news in other ways.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona plans to finalize the remaining paperwork today to provide the receipt showcasing that the club has received €28 million from one of two investors involved in the sale of VIP seats. The club is only waiting on the confirmation of the bank transfer, and will then submit the documentation as well.

As per reports, this will allow Barcelona to return to the 1:1 rule as well, consequently allowing them to operate more freely in the transfer window. Unfortunately, however, it will not necessarily mean that the likes of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor will be registered automatically.

Ironically, however, the club may end up having a better chance of signing new players entirely before they can resolve their registration issue. This pending bank transfer, reportedly set to arrive by midday, should enable to the club to comply with the league’s current requirements.

As for the registrations themselves, Barcelona remains optimistic. Even the agent of Dani Olmo recently stated that he had faith in the club to find a solution despite it being a difficult issue to resolve, and that the player remains fully committed to Barcelona in the meantime.
