The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona are considering moving to bring Óscar Mingueza back to the club during the January transfer window.
That’s according to Esport3, who have on Monday provided an insight into the situation.
Mingueza, for his part, has seen his name take its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the early weeks of the new season.
This comes with the defender, sold by Barcelona back in the summer of 2022, enjoying an excellent time of things on the books of Celta Vigo.
Across eight La Liga appearances to date thus far in 2024/25, Mingueza has directly contributed to six goals.
Such form has not gone at all unnoticed in the boardroom at his former club, amid widespread recent reports that Barcelona are keeping a close eye on the development of the Spanish international.
And, as alluded to above, if the latest update to have surfaced on Monday is anything to go by, then Deco and co. could launch an offensive to bring Mingueza back to the club as soon as this winter.
As per a report from the aforementioned ESport3:
‘To give Koundé a rest, the Catalan team could be interested in the return of the player in the next winter market.’
Owing to the terms agreed upon in his sale, any such operation, it is claimed, would set the Blaugrana back a sum of just €10 million.
