The board at La Liga giants Barcelona are keeping a close eye on the situation of a soon-to-be free agent attacker.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Lille standout Jonathan David as the player in question.

Frontman David, for his part, is a man in-demand with a view to next season.

As much comes with the Canadian international, who has long stood as one of the premiere goalscorers in French football, set to see his terms with Lille come to a close.

David, in turn, is understood to have made his way onto the wishlists of a number of leading clubs from across the continent.

And Barcelona, as per the aforementioned Sport, are one such outfit.

The Camp Nou brass are on the lookout for an alternative to the aging Robert Lewandowski, with a view to the 2025/26 campaign.

And David, owing to his age, profile and impending free agent status, has emerged as a leading option for Deco and co.
