Manchester City superstar Bernardo Silva has been on the transfer wishlist of FC Barcelona for a long while now. The Catalans had shown an interest in the Portuguese international in 2021 and tried to sign him last summer as well, but to no avail.

However, it was expected that Barça would revisit their interest in Silva in the summer this year. Reports earlier today even suggested that Manchester City would let the 28-year-old leave if a good offer arrives and that the attacking midfielder prefers a move to Spain.

There had been speculations that Silva had asked to leave Manchester City last month around the same time as Joao Cancelo left the club.

However, SPORT reports that it was not the case and that the former AS Monaco man will look to depart in the summer transfer window.

It is further claiming that Barcelona are aware of Silva’s situation but see his signing as ‘practically impossible’ at this point in time due to their issues with Financial Fair Play.

All big transfer plans are on hold at this moment, and Silva’s acquisition is seen as unfeasible due to the same reasons, considering that Manchester City would demand a sizeable fee for one of their top performers in recent years.

The report states that Silva’s situation has alerted Real Madrid as well, although he is not seen as a priority at the Santiago Bernabeu.

PSG are another club that hold an interest in the attacking midfielder, but he prefers a move to Spain. However, in case no offer is forthcoming from La Liga, Silva could consider the prospect of a transfer to Paris.

As for Barcelona, the Catalans see his signing as practically impossible for the summer.
