Busy days continue in the offices of FC Barcelona. The sporting department works tirelessly to finalise the signing of Nico Williams – a deal that appears increasingly likely.

Meanwhile, executives are also focused on generating revenue to stabilise the club’s finances after years of economic struggle under the previous board.

A training session in Bahrain?

According to SPORT, a meeting is currently taking place involving most of Barcelona’s senior executives to finalise the details of this summer’s Asian tour, as well as other ongoing matters.

The stadiums and cities for Barcelona’s pre-season friendly matches are already confirmed.

However, in recent days, a new opportunity has emerged and is now being considered by club officials: the possibility of holding an open training session in Bahrain before travelling to Japan.

The proposal is expected to be decided in the coming hours, depending on the position taken by the board and sporting director Deco. Any approval would be subject to the consent of manager Hansi Flick, who is mindful of ensuring proper rest and recovery for his players.

Still to be decided

Barcelona have been planning the logistics for the tour in Japan and South Korea for weeks. However, the Bahrain proposal could slightly alter the schedule. Club sources have indicated that nothing has been finalised yet.

It is important to note that there are no plans to play a friendly match in Bahrain. Should the club accept the offer, it would involve only an open training session, allowing local fans to watch the team in action.

With the pressing need to reduce the wage bill, the La Liga champions have made it clear that all revenue opportunities must be considered – although there is also awareness that the players would prefer a tour with fewer travel commitments.
