The name of an alternative target on the winger transfer shortlist at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Monday been revealed.
The player in the sights of the Blaugrana? Antonio Nusa.
Nusa, for those not familiar with his name, is a gifted 20-year-old attacker, who is currently plying his trade in Germany, with RB Leipzig.
Despite his tender years, the youngster is already a regular at senior level with Norway, boasting a solid record of five goals in 15 appearances for his country.
This past season, his first in the colours of Leipzig, meanwhile, Nusa managed five goals and eight assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.
And such efforts, as alluded to above, will not have gone unnoticed on the part of those behind the scenes at Barcelona.
As revealed by journalist Albert Fernández, amid the club’s widely-publicised search for reinforcements out wide, the Blaugrana have earmarked Nusa as a backup target.
Scouts from the Camp Nou have watched the young winger in action on as many as 10 occasions in the past, with a summer swoop for Nusa now a real possibility, in the case of deals for Luis Díaz and Marcus Rashford proving too difficult to come by.
