Dani Olmo missed Barcelona’s opening games of the season after the club failed to register him in time for La Liga. The club, after all, did not have sufficient financial leverage at the time to include him on their roster.

Andreas Christensen’s injury, however, opened the door for Olmo’s registration as the Danish defender was expected to be out for four months. Barcelona filled Olmo and Pau Victor in as replacements in the same wage space.

The duo’s registration, however, ends on December 31st and with just over a month to go, the Blaugrana still have no clear plan in place to ensure Olmo and Victor are available next year.

Tranquility in the board

As revealed in a recent update by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are calm over the situation and continue to stay assured that they will find a way to register both players in January without sacrificing any other player.

The signing of an agreement with Nike was expected to help the club return to the 1:1 rule and thus aid in the situation, but even the injection of the massive sponsorship has not sufficed. Barcelona are, however, closer than ever before.

Sources within the club have now confirmed that the club is working on several business channels to ensure that there is a further inflow of revenue and that they will rake in enough to register Olmo and Victor before January.

The expected investments will help stabilise Barcelona’s boat after Libero’s payment default in the Barça Vision deal earlier this year and thus bring the club back to the 1:1 rule.

While the club is already identifying potential investors and stakeholders, Joan Laporta has taken a trip to Mongolia and Azerbaijan with the same agenda in mind and hopes to find a concrete solution.
