With just two weeks remaining until the start of the new season, Barcelona are yet to register all of its first-team players.
New summer signings Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford, along with Wojciech Szczesny and Gerard Martín, are not currently listed as registered with La Liga.
The club’s financial situation remains a key factor. Barcelona is over its salary cap, but recent changes to La Liga’s financial control rules are giving them more flexibility.
The new regulations allow teams to provisionally register up to three players – one transfer and two free agents – with a “provisional visa” while their finances are being sorted out. This is a crucial lifeline for the Catalan club.
According to El Confidential, Barcelona are confident of registering all their players before the first matchday of the season.
One of the club’s strategies involves a potential solution regarding goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The club are reportedly looking to classify his injury as a ‘reoperation’, which could allow them to use 50% of his salary – around five million euros – to register a new player.
The club are seeking an agreement on medical reports with ter Stegen before submitting them to La Liga’s Medical Commission for approval.
In addition to this, the club are pursuing other avenues to generate income and free up salary cap space.
This includes a new sponsorship deal with the Democratic Republic of Congo, worth €44 million over four years, as well as the sales of Pablo Torre, Pau Victor, and Alex Valle.
While the club had hoped to avoid selling a major player, a transfer that would generate significant capital gains is seen as an ideal solution.
All efforts are aimed at ensuring the full squad is available for the team’s first competitive match.
